  • IR Technologies

Infrared detectors and emitters are widely used in diverse fields including optical measurement in the analytical, industrial, and medical applications, but also in the communication, agriphotonics, physical and chemical science etc.

Based on long involving photonic technologies, Hamamatsu provides a wide variety of infrared detectors and emitters on different integration levels with brand-new technologies, on-going advancements or to bring traditional technologies to the next level in order to fulfill ideally the requirements from our customers. Further improvements are bringing new alternative technologies onto the market.

  • Cameras

Our cameras are designed to deliver beautiful and reliably quantitative images even in the most demanding of applications.

We have a diverse lineup of cameras that support a wide range of wavelengths from X-rays to the near-infrared and support of variety of applications.

  • Energetiq

The Laser-Driven Light Sources or LDLS is an innovative light source developed by Energetiq Technology inc. in the US, which is a subsidiary of Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. LDLS is the only light source in the world that utilizes a focused laser beam to generate and maintain plasma between the discharge electrodes in the xenon gas filled bulb.

Energetiq manufactures advanced, next generation light sources with breakthrough, patented technologies, including our ultra-bright Laser-Driven Light Source (LDLS®) and Electrodeless Z-Pinch™ EUV source. Our light products generate high brightness across a broad spectral range, from soft x-ray to the deepest UV, through visible and into the NIR, and deliver efficient light collection in a reliable, compact package.

Match Any Light Spectrum, or Design Your Own

The Chromatiq Spectral Engine™ (CSE) is a sophisticated light source capable of matching real-world lighting conditions, emulating illuminant standards, and creating custom spectra.

The CSE offers unparalleled spectrum match accuracy as well as repeatability and speed when switching between spectra to optimize optical testing and calibration procedures in the production environment.
The CSE is built around the high radiance and stability of the Laser-Driven Light Source (LDLS™). The performance of the LDLS, combined with the innovative design of the CSE system, enables consistent high-fidelity spectrum matching, rapid switching between selected spectra, and stable color content at various intensities.

  • Spectrometer / Spectrum Sensors

    Mini-Spectrometers

Mini-spectrometers are compact and low cost spectrometers (polychromators). We offer over 20 different types of mini-spectrometers covering the spectral range from UV to NIR. Suitable for applications such as environmental measurement, color measurement, quality control in production lines, and information devices.

    Raman

Our Raman spectroscopic modules include all the essential components needed to perform Raman measurements, such as excitation laser diode, polychromatic dispersion device, and optical and control circuit systems.

    FTIR Engine

The Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR) engine is compact enough to carry in just one hand. A Michelson optical interferometer and control circuit are built into a palm-sized enclosure. Spectrum and absorbance can be measured by connecting a PC via USB. The FTIR engine will assist in creating portable handheld FTIR spectrophotometers for analytical applications including real-time monitoring of chemicals on production lines and ingredient analysis of agricultural products in the field.

    MEMS-FPI

Ultra-compact sensors that house an InGaAs PIN photodiode and a Fabry-Perot Interferometer (MEMS-FPI) tunable filter that can vary its transmission wavelength depending on the applied voltage.

  • Gas Analysis

Gas analysis has been applied in various places and for various purposes, such as measuring automobile emissions and monitoring flue gas emissions. In recent years, the applications of gas analysis have been expanding even further, with research being conducted into the early detection and diagnosis of diseases through the analysis of breath. Hamamatsu offers a wide range of light sources and detectors for optical gas measurement.
